Chapelco

Located in San Martin de los Andes, in the Neuquen province inside of argentinean Patagonia, is Chapelco Mountain, counting with a height of more than 1900 meters, which makes of it one the most attractives ski centers in the country.

Chapelco Mountain counts with ski runs for every level and allows practicing the winter sports even with a few amount of snow. To slide across its magical lengas forests with lichens in their trunks and watch in the distance the Lanin volcano and Lacar Lake, is an unforgettable experience for beginners and expert skiers.

Chapelco is also a familiar place, with many activities for people of all ages. It's also close to San Martin city, where the visitors can find more than one hundred alternatives in lodgings and exquisite gastronomic offers.

This ski resort counts with safe ski runs and patrols that constantly guard the sectors of the mountain. In the Base the slopes are intermediate and the hillsides are smooth, with grass all the year.

Chapelco Mountain counts with a rental store, with all the equipment need to practice ski and snowboard, also a ski keeping and transfers in and outside of the mountain.

In the summit of Chapelco Mountain there are exigent ski runs, making this place the ideal for snowboarders, who practice their tricks and maneuvers in the top of the hill. On the other side, in the Base of the mountain are smoother ski runs for the beginners, who are starting on these snow sports.

Chapelco Mountain also offers snow expeditions for the non skiers and also snow cats, exploration of the forests and sledges, among many other recreation and cultural activities in the ski center.

Chapelco Mountain is located 19 kilometers away from San Martin de los Andes city. From that point there are transfer services to get to the ski complex.

Another alternative to get there are the flights from Buenos Aires, just two hours away from this ski center. Other flights come from Neuquén with half hour duration, from San Carlos de Bariloche at almost three flight hours, among many others.

Other choice is to get by car to provincial routes through the same cities to San Martín de los Andes. From this city, cars can take the route which surroundings the Lacar lake for 15 kilometers and then the route 19 and after five kilometers more you get to Chapelco Mountain.

Visitors can also get to Chapelco Mountain by busses from the cities of Buenos Aires, San Carlos de Bariloche, Rosario y Cordoba or from the south of Chile.
